FIELD GUIDE

Iceland is a country still being made. Black sand beaches, lava fields covered in moss, waterfalls around every bend and glaciers you can walk on with crampons and a guide. We travel the south coast slowly, staying two nights in each place so there is time for the walks most people drive past.

Our small farm guesthouses are run by families who have lived on the same land for generations. Dinners are lamb, Arctic char and skyr, and in summer the light never quite leaves the sky.

Good to know

  • Waterproofs are not optional: rain arrives sideways with very little warning.
  • Glacier walks need sturdy boots; crampons and helmets are provided.
  • Iceland is expensive — our prices include almost every meal.
  • The weather decides the plan; your leader adapts each day.
